Jeremy has a unconfirmed diagnosis of Aaskargs Syndrome. He is just learning to take steps completely assisted. He can sit up now and has low tolerance to lots of stimulation. He does have fairly good social skills and likes to have attention. He does not speak anything and does seem to understand some of what you say. They usually are mentally handicapped and have associated severe orthopedic issues which he has. His head has the enlarged forehead and misshappen face and deep set eyes. He needs a family to love him. Please contact Polly for more information.
Mathias has probable Arrested Hydrocephalus. Has some orthopedic, ambulation issues. He does walk but turns out his feet and could really use some intense physical therapy. He probably has a little bit of brain damage and needs attention there. He is very loving and has good social skills but gets frustrated very quickly. He is not competely potty trained. Please contact Polly for more information.
Debra has probable Cerebral Palsy from birth trauma. She has pretty significant muscle rigidity and really could benefit from intense physical therapy. She probably has associated brain damage and with time could probably do better. She is very very small for one year old. She was very premature at birth. Please contact Polly for more information.
Steven has probable autism. He does understand a lot of what we say and sometimes verbalizes to us. He does exhibit sensory issues. Please contact Polly for more information.
It is believed that Josephine had some sort of birth trauma. She has enlarged eye lids that could be surgically corrected. Right now she looks like she is squinting all the time and they just need to be repaired. She is not really walking to much yet but starting to learn I think. She needs physical therapy and maybe lens correction. Please contact Polly for more information.
Teddy (DOB: Oct 7, 2003)
Teddy is good-natured and friendly boy who appears to have mild cerebral palsy. He is both perceptive and curious and responds appropriately to verbal commands and other cues. Teddy is able to sit, crawl, pull himself up to stand, reach for and grasp objects, and feed himself (though he cannot manage utensils). He does not appear to have more control over one side of his body than the other, with the exception of right-hand dominance.
Otherwise, Teddy appears to be in good health and is HIV and HepB negative. He is small for his age, but has good height-to-weight proportions. We believe that with a devoted family and appropriate therapies, Teddy will thrive in a forever home. Please contact Polly for more information.

Levi
Levi is estimated to be around 30 months of age, but his developmental age is thought to be much younger. Levi has a sweet personality and is generally very easy to please. He responds with a huge grin and laugh when people talk or sing to him or coo his name. However, he has very poor eyesight and is easily frightened by fast-moving objects (or people) too close to his face or by loud or sudden noises.
Levi likes to spend time in a baby walker where he can stand and move around. He is not strong or coordinated enough to move the walker, but he likes being upright and secure. He's also happy in his bed where he moves around a lot as well. Levi has very little use of his hands. One of the nannies is trying to teach Levi how to sit. So far he has not caught on, but he may someday.
This sweet little guy is in good health and just needs a family to love on him and enjoy his easy smiles. Please contact Polly for more information.

Rachel
Rachel is ten and new to the orphanage. She came in quite ill, but her health is improving and slowly her personality is unfolding.
Rachel has special medical needs. Please contact
Polly for more information.

Soloman
Soloman (Solo) is a ten year old blind boy. Solo also has some other issues, but we haven't been able to figure out what exactly the 'diagnosis' is. That said, we certainly know how him well. He doesn't speak (but he can be heard singing) :) and he rocks back and forth a great deal and especially to music. He sits in the classroom with the children for their entire school day and does well with that and seems to respond to things around him. When the teacher has music on or the children get excited, so does Solo.
Solo also eats with the other children at meal time and is responsible for washing up before and after eating, finding his way to the table, praying and eating with the others too.
Solo toilets himself and can maintain himself that way quite well. He has full use of his body and moves around the house quite easily on his own. He doesn't have any behavioral issues and has a quite cheerful disposition. :) Please contact Polly for more info.
